At No Maintenance Decking & Trim, we’ve been building decks for 25 years and in that time, we’ve utilized many different decking products.   We offer our customers what we believe are the best decking materials available. We have been telling the world for many years that all-plastic decking has better qualities than wood composite decking. At No Maintenance Decks we feel that the only work that you should ever do on you deck is to clean it. For years we have sold one all-plastic decking and at least one brand of wood composite decking usually Trex. In 2008, the leading decking manufacturers have finally seen the light and are now producing all-plastic decking. In 2008, we are carrying three brands of all plastic decking.

We carry the Tandeck Decking System (see www.tandeck.com ) Azek decking (see www.azek.com) and Trex Escapes (www.trex.com) all of which are 100% plastic decking. At No Maintenance Decking & Trim, we would rather not make a sale than to make one without telling the customer the whole truth about the product (length of warranty and what the product will look like in two years). We also carry Azek Trim for your home because using wood on the exterior is expensive to maintain.  These go together naturally since we believe that you should be enjoying your house, not working on it.

Customers who purchase wood composites think they are buying a low maintenance product that will last a long time. What they are really getting is a product that will fade, stain and is highly susceptible to composite mold. We know that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link.  The weak link in all wood & plastic composites is the WOOD, which is actually sawdust.  When sawdust is added to the mix as cheap filler the product will not hold the color and will begin to fade as soon as you install it.  Wood is a material that absorbs water and bacteria.  This bacteria feeds on the wood to produce the mold and in six months you see it on all composite deck products.  In plain language, the decking is rotting from within the day you install it.

Despite that, people still want Trex.  It’s the best wood composite so we sell it.  Some people like buying a well known product which is fully understandable.  We like the newer Trex composite because it is more resistant to staining.  After 25 years in the decking business, you can reach the obvious conclusion:  that the extra, per square foot difference in price, compared to an all-plastic has the greater value.  Trex has great brand awareness as a result of their outstanding marketing/advertising campaigns that they’ve run for several years.   For those other customers that would rather have a deck that doesn't fade and will not stain and will never get green mold, the all-plastic products may be right for you. Trex and other standard wood composite decking will cost a little less up front, but just to get the mold off once a year will cost you more in just two or three years, than just buying the Tandeck/Azek or Trex Escapes in the first place!   If you add this to the fact that it will not fade, it is an easy decision to purchase an all-plastic product.

At No Maintenance Decking & Trim we have done all the homework for you. We’ve looked at all of the products currently in the marketplace.  Some have very good features and others are not much different than all the rest.  I have considered many factors such as cost, warranty, maintenance, durability, product integrity, as well as having the entire deck built out of the same product (visible parts) and the overall look of the deck. We suggest that you read the decking article for more details on other products.

As a plastic lumber yard, we can sell any product that we like and we have chosen only the best product to sell.  We believe that 100% Polyethylene (PE) is the best material to use for all outdoor building projects. To show how colorfast it is, I have a piece of decking that was made and installed in 1992.  We went back to look at the deck in February, 2006.   Conclusion:  this deck looks so good that we are replacing it just to prove to the world that this decking hasn’t faded at all!   I have a piece of this 13 year-old decking in my office and pieces of it will be in all retailers that carry the product.  The Tandeck Decking system is without a doubt, top of the line!  Check it out for yourself!  You need only to see a deck built of any of the wood composites that is just a few years old or even a PVC decking system; then look at the Tandeck Decking System.  The Tandeck Decking System has over 15 different profiles to give your deck the finished look that you desire and is unmatched with any other product out there! The Tandeck Decking System produces the most beautiful sets of stairs that I have ever seen. You owe it to yourself to do a little research.   If you see a better decking system, let me know, I would like to see it.  It is obvious—whether you have vinyl siding, brick or stucco. The Tandeck Decking System is the best value in the decking industry.

At No Maintenance Decking & Trim, we believe, very strongly that it is imperative for all prospective customers to visit our outdoor showroom on Rt.110 in Farmingdale, New York. Years ago, when all decking products were the same (all treated southern yellow pine), you would call a deck installer, have them visit your house and then get a price.  A 6-inch piece of any decking, including the worst brands, all look good when you hold it in your hand. The most effective visual is to see the decking in its intended setting, outdoors! As a finished deck! When you buy a car, having a salesperson come to your house with a shiny piece of metal and a photo of a car isn’t a good way to buy a car.  Buying a deck is the same way.  It is beneficial for you to come into our showroom so that we can price your deck within minutes!  Just bring in some rough dimensions, we’ll sketch it out and give you some design ideas and a price.  You’ll walk on  the finished product:  our outdoor 1500 square foot deck,   I’m sure you will agree that this is the only way to purchase a deck!  Click here to visit www.tandeck.com to get product information or click here to get directions and to our showroom.  Come and see the next generation in decking!
